Teluk Chempedak
A beautiful sandy beach just 5km from Kuantan town. Nice place for surfing, jet-skiing, swimming and picnic. On the sea front, numerous restaurants and food stalls serving a wide variety of food & beverages all day long.
Night time what you can do at beach area? Sure not suitable for water sport, but local folks like to come over here for nice sea view while enjoying the sea wind. Beside that, the food court and fast food centre always fulls of crowd. Around the beach area you can see a lot family and friends gathering around for “Chit-Chating”. There also got few local artist help people do portrait painting and some souvenir stall.
Taman Gelora
Located beside Jalan Telok Sisek, Tman Gelero is a favourite park for the locals. You can enjoy a stroll / jog under shady trees and at the same time enjoy the view of the South China Sea. there is a lake in the centre of the park where one can have boat rides. Within the park, there are also tennis court, futsal , beach volley courts and a football field. Try the local delicacies, every Sunday evening, pasar Malam (Night Market) start at 4.00pm.
Taman Teruntum
Local favorite recreational park. Located opposite the Royal Kuantan Golf Club. A mere 5mins drive from Teluk Chempedak beach. A mini Zoo is part of the attraction besides the children playground. Horse riding for children is an enjoyable affair.
Pinggiran Sungai Galing
New recreation park at Kuantan town surrounding the Sungai Galing. Equip with jogging pathway and children playground.
Wan Fo Dian 万佛殿
It isn’t one of those big and famous kinds of temple, but it’s a very tiny peaceful place for the Buddhist praying and has a hall for some activities. Though it might be small there is a big pond where there are a lot of fish and turtles. The Buddhist believe that it’s a good deed if you are letting off your pets to a place where they can find freedom. So the fish and turtles there are normally the pets from the public. They set them free in the pond, instead of letting them off at the drain, or river. The visitors will buy bread and feed them. So they will never starve.
There are hills beside the pond. The scenery there doesn’t look like we are in Malaysia, but it’s more like we are at those foreign country like China. There are a lot of visitors during our visit, but none of them speak or laugh loudly. Everyone is respecting the place, and talk softly. A very peaceful place.

Sungai Lembing
Dubbed the El Dorado of the East, Sungai Lembing was the largest, longest and deepest subterranean mine in the world was once located. About 1000 meters above sea level and surrounding by lush green forest, tourists like to visit Sg Lembing for the crisp cool air, unpolluted and beautiful rainbow waterfall.
Batu Hitam Beach
13km north of Kuantan. This beach is called Batu Hitam(literally : Black stones) for its stretch of black stones for camping and enjoying by the beach and sea. Visitor often come here for picnic wih their family and swim in the sea. Bath and toilet facility is available.
Pasar Malam Jalan Gambut
Open every Saturday from 5.00pm until 10.00pm. Full of local delights, fruit, fashion and etc.
Tanjung Lumpur – Ikan Bakar Street
If you like eat fried fish (Ikan Bakar) then you must not missed this place. Tanjung Lumpur was famous with “Ikan Bakar” with lot of Restaurant selling “Ikan Bakar” along the road.
